St. Alexander Catholic School
St. Alexander School rests on a 12 acre site within St. Alexander Parish and serves over 450 students, in grades Kindergarten through eighth.
This addition expanded the school by an additional ten classrooms, a science lab, an applied technology lab, and a faculty work room. The building’s form responds not only to the program elements on the inside but also the site on the outside. Constrained by the existing buildings and property configuration the building is tucked in the northwest corner of the site with a bay that projects out to accommodate the science labs on the inside. A small central atrium with clerestory day lighting links the new addition to the existing building.
