dbHMS Engineering Inc.

A creative and innovative engineering fi rm requested an open and inviting office space to foster collaboration among engineers in a multi-discipline firm. The first step of the project was to remove all of the previous tenant’s encumbrances to restore the original warmth and open feel of the loft building. The new plan was the left open with the exception of the main conference room, which becomes the main feature and organizing element for the office. Located directly opposite the entrance, the conference room was designed to look like a section of ductwork. Elevated off the floor and rotated the galvanized clad duct section separates the partners’ area of the office from the engineering staff. A second smaller twin duct object is located towards the rear of the space drawing views of the entire length of the space.

Project Cost: $250,000
