The Consulting Engineer’s Group Offices
The corporate headquarters for a national engineering firm specializing in pre-cast concrete designs practices what it preaches. At the main entry a monolithic “pre-cast” block is rotated and carved out to form the reception area as well as display niches featuring accessories used in precast components and models of the arenas designed by the firm. Private offi ces were placed along the north and south sides of the space partitioned off with thick, angled pre-cast walls with punched openings
for translucent panels allowing light to pour into the center of the space. In the central open offi ce area the building’s structure was exposed and painted. Illuminated soffi ts accent the workstation confi gurations and provide task lighting over each desk.
